I first learned about Paicines when I made friends with the family of Oils of Paicines. Oh my gosh, it was magical! The owners Barbara and Jerry are so lovely. I am being honest when I say they they have my favorite olive oil! The flavor is fresh, fruity and also buttery. It’s not super bitter like other olive oils. They press the olives within 24 hours of picking. Seeing the whole process was amazing!! Not to mention their peacocks, llamas, and other whimsical ranch life. More of this is also found at Paicines Ranch where they have wine, tours, and plenty of fun events. This is what I love about California. I’ve lived all around it my whole life and no matter the town whether urban or rural, there is something enchanting about it's nature that makes it one-of-a-kind.
